Lotus Tip

Be mindful when getting into Lotus pose that the second leg crossing over the first maintains rotation only at the hip, and not at the knee joint. There has been a surge of meniscus tears on the medial (inside) of the left knee because this leg is usually second to move into Lotus pose. The chance for injury then increases as it must pass over the shin of the first leg. Thank you, Leslie Kaminoff, for this insight into this posture.
