The Children’s 95-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Edge Yoga School is a comprehensive, trauma-informed hybrid program designed to prepare teachers to confidently and ethically teach yoga to children and teens ages 2 through 15.

 

This training blends self-paced, on-demand study with in-person Lab participation to support developmental understanding, applied teaching skill, safety, communication with families, and ethical responsibility. The program emphasizes real-world readiness while maintaining flexibility.

This hybrid training includes a structured 95-hour curriculum aligned with Yoga Alliance standards for children’s yoga education.

 

The program includes:

 

• A comprehensive children’s yoga curriculum spanning ages 2–15

• Yoga techniques, games, movement, and breathwork for children

• Teaching methodology for group settings and classrooms

• Anatomy and physiology related to child development

The grace period is intended for completing outstanding coursework, assignments, reflections, and practicum submissions.

The Children’s 95-Hour Yoga Teacher Training includes focused study across five developmental age groups:

 

• Ages 2–4 Preschool

• Ages 5–8 Early Elementary

• Ages 9–11 Upper Elementary

• Ages 12–13 Middle School

• Ages 14–15 High School

 

Across each age group, students study and apply:

 

• Developmental stages and milestones

• Age-appropriate yoga techniques, movement, games, and breathwork

Practicum Requirements

Observation Practicum

 

Students are required to complete six hours of observation.

 

Observations are completed by viewing recorded children’s yoga classes provided or approved within the training.

 

Students submit written reflections demonstrating understanding of developmental stages, teaching methods, safety, and communication.

Practice Teaching Practicum

 

Students are required to complete twelve hours of teaching practicum.

 

Teaching is demonstrated through recorded video submissions of children’s yoga classes or age-appropriate teaching segments.

 

Recorded submissions are reviewed to assess:

• Developmental suitability

• Safety and classroom awareness

• Ethical teaching practices

• Professional presence and communication

Lab participation may support teaching readiness but does not replace required video submissions.

Tuition includes forty Lab passes, which may be used for eligible Labs during the training window.

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, Edge Yoga School issues a Children’s 95-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate.

 

Graduates may apply to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher, provided all prerequisites and registration steps are completed.
