The Prenatal 85-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Edge Yoga School is a comprehensive, trauma-informed, fully on-demand program designed to prepare yoga teachers to safely and confidently support students through pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.

 

This training emphasizes safety, ethics, anatomy, practical teaching skill, and compassionate care for both parent and baby. All coursework and practicum requirements are completed through on-demand study and video submission.

Trimester-specific asana and meditation instruction

Subtle body anatomy and energetic considerations

Ethics, boundaries, and scope of practice

There is no required travel and no requirement to attend in-person classes. All practicum requirements are fulfilled through recorded video submission.

Six-month completion grace period

Total completion window of 18 months from enrollment

 

The grace period is intended for completing outstanding coursework, assignments, reflections, and practicum submissions.

Practicum Requirements

 

The practicum is a required component of the Prenatal 85-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and is completed entirely through video submission.

 

Observation Practicum

 

Students are required to complete ten prenatal yoga class observations.

 

Observations are completed by viewing recorded prenatal yoga classes provided or approved within the training.

 

For each observed class, students must submit a written review reflecting on sequencing, safety, language, and prenatal considerations.

Practice Teaching Practicum

 

Students are required to teach ten prenatal yoga classes.

 

Each class must be recorded and submitted as a video.

 

Recorded classes are reviewed to assess:

 

Safety and appropriateness for pregnancy

Trimester-specific modifications

Sequencing and pacing

Cueing and communication

Professional teaching presence

 

Instructions for recording and submitting videos are provided within the training.

Certification and Registration

 

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, Edge Yoga School issues a Prenatal 85-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate.

 

Graduates may apply to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher, provided all registration steps and prerequisites are met.
