Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training: Trauma-Informed | What You Receive

There is a moment at the beginning of every training that matters more than any lecture, any pose, or any assignment.

It is the moment you arrive.

At Edge Yoga School, we honor that moment with intention. What you receive upon enrolling in the Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training: Trauma-Informed is not simply a collection of materials, but a thoughtful beginning. A way to enter the practice with presence, curiosity, and care.

Each student is welcomed into the training with a canvas tote, marked with the Edge Yoga School logo. It is simple, durable, and meant to be used throughout your journey. Inside, you will find a blend of practical tools and quiet invitations.

A handmade tea pouch filled with Michelle’s signature blend offers a place to pause. Alongside it are fillable tea bags, inviting you to create your own ritual over time. A stamped tag rests gently against the sachet, paired with a small handwritten “M.” This balance of structure and personal touch reflects the heart of our school.

A “Sip Slowly” bookmark serves as a gentle reminder that this training is not meant to be rushed. It is something to move through with awareness. You will also receive an eco-friendly business card, thoughtfully designed and aligned with our values.

On your first in-person day, you will receive your printed manual for your training. This manual serves as your anchor throughout the training. It is designed to be written in, reflected upon, and revisited as your understanding deepens.

In addition to your printed materials, students receive access to Michelle Rae Sobi’s digital library. These texts are woven into the training and support both study and reflection:

  • The Yoga Teacher

  • Hatha Salutations + Yoga Snippets

  • A Glimpse of Yoga + Workbook

  • Integrated Yoga Pathway

  • The Art of Yoga Asana

  • From Child’s Pose

These works support your development as a teacher by offering language, structure, visual understanding, and reflective insight. They are not simply read. They are integrated.

What you receive, however, extends far beyond physical and digital materials.

This training is grounded in a trauma-informed, compassionate approach to yoga education. You will explore stress management through an awareness-based lens, learning how to support students without stepping outside of scope of practice. The program emphasizes ethical teaching, clear boundaries, and a deep respect for the individuality of each student.

You will engage in hands-on teaching through in-person labs, where the foundation of the program is to teach one another. These experiences are designed to build confidence, refine communication, and develop your ability to hold space in a supportive and professional way.

Webinars and recorded sessions support your learning with flexibility, allowing you to revisit material and integrate it at your own pace. Anatomy study is woven into the training through guided exploration, including opportunities to pause, reflect, and deepen understanding rather than rush through content.

Community is an essential part of the experience. Students connect through shared study, discussion, and practice, often engaging in book-based reflection and dialogue. This creates a learning environment that is both structured and supportive.

The program also introduces daily living practices inspired by Ayurvedic principles, encouraging greater awareness around rest, routine, and overall wellbeing. These practices are offered as supportive tools for both personal and professional integration.

What you receive is layered.

You receive tools.

You receive guidance.

You receive space to practice and refine.

You receive a community that learns together.

And perhaps most importantly, you receive a way of learning that invites you to slow down, to engage, and to integrate your knowledge into lived experience.

Students enrolled in our program may send a Slack DM to Michelle or those interested in enrolling are invited to send a CHAT to begin a conversation.
