ABOUT
Michelle Rae Sobi, E-RYT 500, RPYT, RCYT, YACEP, is the founder of Edge Yoga School & Arts and a dedicated educator, mentor, and guide for aspiring and practicing yoga teachers.
Known for her compassionate, structured, and trauma-informed approach, Michelle blends yoga philosophy, functional anatomy, subtle body awareness, and Ayurveda into a cohesive and practical teaching methodology.
She is an American Yoga Council Level Three Teacher and recipient of the Yogi Raj Award. Her teaching is informed by continued study in yoga anatomy through the lineage of Leslie Kaminoff, as well as advanced Ayurvedic mentorship under Dr. Vivek Singh. Michelle integrates these teachings into a modern, accessible framework that honors both tradition and scope of practice.
At Edge Yoga School, she leads trauma-informed 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training programs, as well as 95-hour Children’s Yoga and 85-hour Prenatal Yoga certifications, mentorship, and residential training experiences. She also specializes in yoga styles for continuing education, supporting teachers in refining their voice and expanding their offerings.
Her programs are known for their balance of academic rigor and emotional support, providing students with real-world teaching experience, individualized mentorship, and a strong sense of community.
Michelle also enjoys visual storytelling on retreats, capturing moments through her lens as a way to reflect the depth, presence, and transformation experienced in practice.
Her dharma is to help students build confidence, teach with integrity, and create meaningful, sustainable paths within the wellness space.
