Where We’re Based, How We Teach, and What We Offer

At Edge Yoga School & Arts, we’ve always believed that clarity creates confidence — for students, teachers, and community alike. As our offerings continue to evolve with intention, we want to share a clear picture of where we’re rooted, how we teach, and what makes Edge unique.

Our Home Base
Edge Yoga School & Arts is based in Naperville, where our headquarters has served as a consistent meeting place for nearly two decades. This location has long been a gathering point — a place where students meet before trainings, workshops, field trips, and community walks throughout downtown Naperville, including nearby parks, cultural landmarks, and local favorites.
In addition to our Naperville base, Edge maintains a dedicated yoga teacher training studio in Wheaton, where small-group labs, mentorship sessions, practice teaching, and hands-on education take place. This studio is a leased, private space designed specifically for teacher training — allowing for focused, embodied learning in an intimate setting.
Together, these locations support a flexible, community-centered model:

What We Specialize In
At the heart of Edge Yoga School is a simple but powerful mission:
We mentor yoga instructors into confident, embodied yoga teachers.
Our programs emphasize:
• experiential learning
• practical teaching skills
• integration of all eight limbs of yoga
• real-world application — on and off the mat
Rather than relying solely on lecture or observation, students engage in hands-on labs, workshops, and guided field experiences that allow them to practice teaching before graduation. This ensures graduates leave feeling grounded, prepared, and authentic in front of real students.

What “Hands-On Education” Looks Like at Edge
Hands-on education at Edge goes beyond physical assists or sequencing practice.
It includes:
• experiential workshops
• small-group mentorship
• practice teaching with feedback
• anatomy integration
• ethics and professionalism
• business-of-yoga insights
• real conversations about life as a teacher
Even brief moments within a lab may draw on decades of experience — offering students insight into the administrative, professional, and personal realities of teaching yoga in today’s world.

Community Partnerships & Field Experiences
Naperville has been a formative part of Edge’s story, and we’re proud to support and collaborate with local partners, including:
• Naperville Art League — art meditation classes and workshops
• Painted Tree on Block 59 — original artwork available for purchase, with occasional artist events and workshops
• Naperville Salt Cave — meditation, sound, crystal bowls, chair yoga, and somatic experiences
• Parks, galleries, breweries, and community spaces throughout DuPage County
These experiences allow students and community members to see yoga in action beyond studio walls — meeting people where they are and honoring yoga as a living practice.

Art, Creativity, and Embodied Expression
Edge Yoga School & Arts recognizes creativity as a vital part of embodied learning.
Original artwork by Michelle Rae Sobi is available inside Painted Tree on Block 59 in Naperville, offering a space to shop art and occasionally meet the artist through special events and workshops. These offerings complement our yoga and meditation work, inviting reflection, creativity, and mindful presence through visual expression.

What We Hope Students Take With Them
When students look back on their time at Edge, our hope is simple:
That it didn’t feel like just a training —
but rather, an experience.
One alum described it best:
“You show up, you keep showing up, and one day you realize — I’m a yoga teacher, and I feel good about what I do.”
That sense of confidence, integrity, and embodied knowing is what we aim to cultivate — one workshop, one lab, one meaningful connection at a time.

In Closing
Edge Yoga School & Arts continues to offer:
• yoga teacher training
• mentorship
• yoga asana photoshoots
• meditation experiences
• art-based workshops
• community field trips
All grounded in presence, relationship, and lived experience.
We’re grateful to continue this work — rooted in Naperville, supported by our Wheaton studio, and connected to communities across DuPage County.
