Program Overview


This offering is a 500-hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training: Trauma-Informed pathway designed to integrate structured education with immersive, real-world experience.


Students complete a total of 500 hours through a three-part structure:


  • 100 hours completed prior to travel through in-person labs or interactive small group webinars

  • 300 hours completed over 30 residential days at a destination of the student’s choice

  • 100 hours completed after returning through continued study, integration, and mentorship


The residential portion is completed as 30 days of 10-hour training days.


Students may choose their own location. One example discussed is The Ritz-Carlton Oʻahu, Turtle Bay or the Alohilini in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What Residential Means


Residential training is an immersive format where students live, study, and practice within the rhythm of a real environment.


This includes living and training in a chosen destination, participating in structured daily activities, and engaging in self-directed learning supported by real-time mentorship.


This format blends education, retreat, and real-world teaching into one cohesive experience.

Training Structure


  • Prior to travel, students complete 100 hours through in-person labs or interactive small group webinars.


  • After returning, students complete 100 additional hours through continued study, integration, and mentorship.


  • The residential portion includes 30 days of structured training at 10 hours per day, totaling 300 hours.


Students earn one hour for each hour of completed activity.

Sample Daily Schedule | 10-Hour Training Day


Morning Yoga Class


  1. Attend a yoga class

  2. Write a short journal reflection focused on takeaways and future teaching application

  3. 2 hours


Ayurvedic Breakfast Study


  1. Select breakfast intentionally from available options

  2. Photograph the meal

  3. Write a reflection analyzing qualities such as warming, cooling, and doshic relevance

  4. 2 hours


Meditation + Script Writing


  1. Meditate for one hour

  2. Write and submit a meditation script

  3. 2 hours


Midday Yoga Class


  1. Attend a second yoga class

  2. Write a journal reflection focused on sequencing and teaching ideas

  3. 2 hours


Lunch


  1. Optional working lunch

  2. Students may read or listen to required materials

  3. If used as study time, a reflection is required

  4. 0–1 hour


Mentorship Webinar


  1. Interactive session with Michelle Rae Sobi to review the day and discuss takeaways

  2. 1 hour

  3. Independent Study

  4. Workbook completion and/or required reading

  5. 1–2 hours

Students are required to submit a daily training log via Slack at the end of each day.

Mentorship Integration


Daily submissions are used as the basis for mentorship webinars.


During these sessions:


  • Student reflections are reviewed

  • Observations are clarified and expanded

  • Connections are made to yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, and teaching methodology

  • Guidance is provided for continued development

  • Mentorship is available in real time throughout the residential month.

Required Reading


The 500-hour program includes 50 hours of required reading focused on Ayurveda.

Students may complete reading during residential time or outside of scheduled activities.



Learning Approach


Students engage in:


  • Daily yoga classes

  • Meditation and script writing

  • Ayurvedic observation and reflection

  • Journal-based learning

  • Workbook completion

  • Interactive mentorship


Students submit reflections in Slack without needing prompts or guidance for each entry.


The purpose of the reflection is not critique. It is to build a personal teaching playbook based on observed and experienced practices.
