Travel, Wellness + Mentorship

At Edge Yoga School & Arts, we recognize that meaningful learning can happen in many environments…including while traveling the world.
Students enrolled in eligible programs may have the opportunity to earn a portion of their training hours while participating in independent wellness travel experiences, destination retreats, or educational journeys. This pathway allows students to blend personal restoration, cultural exploration, mindfulness, and reflective learning while remaining connected to their yoga teacher training curriculum.

One example of this type of opportunity is the upcoming:
Luxury Escape to St Eustatius | April 2027
Hosted through Bluewater Travel at Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort in St Eustatius, this wellness-oriented destination includes access to yoga spaces, fitness facilities, ocean-view movement areas, spa amenities, and restorative experiences designed to support mindful living.
The resort features:
• Outdoor yoga platforms overlooking the ocean and mountains
• Wellness classes including yoga, Pilates, fitness, and stretching
• Oceanfront gym and recovery facilities
• Spa and massage services
• Quiet garden spaces for meditation and reflection
• Lifestyle-centered amenities including pools, pickleball, and wellness experiences

During approved travel experiences, students may earn training hours through a combination of:
Attending Public Yoga Classes
Students may attend yoga or mindfulness classes offered publicly through approved wellness venues, resorts, or studios.
Meditation Script Development
Students may draft guided meditation scripts, reflective teaching prompts, journaling exercises, or mindfulness lesson plans during travel and submit them upon return.
Approved Educational Events
Students may attend pre-approved workshops, wellness experiences, lectures, or special events connected to yoga, mindfulness, anatomy, movement, meditation, or holistic wellness.
Mentorship + Accountability
Students remain connected through Slack communication, reflective submissions, and ongoing mentorship with Michelle Rae Sobi throughout the experience to ensure syllabus requirements, competencies, and educational standards are being met.

Travel Hour Guidelines
Students may earn up to one-half of eligible program hours through approved travel-based educational experiences.
A maximum of ten educational hours may be counted per day.
All travel learning must be pre-approved in advance and aligned with the program syllabus, competency requirements, and learning objectives established by Edge Yoga School & Arts.
Remaining required hours will be completed through direct mentorship with Michelle Rae Sobi via in-person sessions, webinars, on-demand coursework, labs, assignments, and guided educational support.

We believe yoga education can extend beyond the classroom…through thoughtful travel, reflective practice, mindful experiences, and learning to meet people where they are…anywhere in the world.
