Yoga Humanities workshops — Reflects the spirit of self-discovery, mastery through practice, and refinement through labs, while evaluating students’ ability to teach from the Eight Limbs (Yamas through Samadhi).

🌿 Yoga Humanities Teaching Rubric

Inspired by the voice and philosophy of Michelle Rae Sobi

Focus Areas: History · Philosophy · Subtle Body Theory

🧘‍♀️ Purpose

This rubric supports trainees in developing and teaching workshops on the deeper layers of yoga—bridging philosophy with practice. Each student will offer workshops (solo, written, or presentation-based) on the Yamas, Niyamas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi, using templates refined in lab.Mastery comes not from perfection, but from presence, preparation, and purpose.

🌼 Instructor Guidance

  • During labs: Encourage trainees to workshop one concept at a time—refine delivery, cue mindfulness, and test engagement.

  • During teaching: Observe clarity of communication, embodiment of philosophy, and the emotional resonance they cultivate.

  • During reflection: Have students self-assess which dimension of the Eightfold Path they connect to most deeply and which still feels abstract.

🕉️ Feedback Reflection Prompts

At the end of each workshop, invite trainees to journal:

  • “What aspect of yoga philosophy did I embody most authentically today?”

  • “How did my delivery invite students to live their yoga?”

  • “What refinements will I bring forward into my next offering?”

🌺 Rubric Outcome

Students will move into mastery through iterative practice, guided mentorship, and self-reflection. The intention is not only to teach yoga humanities—but to live them.

Assessment for Yoga Mentorship

Mentor Overview Training Rubric

The bottom line. What we do and how we do it. All are welcome.

Purpose: Our rubric provides a framework for assessing the development of yoga teachers as they cultivate both technical proficiency and personal authenticity. It emphasizes embodiment, alignment, mindfulness, and the ability to connect yoga’s ancient wisdom to modern practice.

Reflective Prompts for Trainee Growth

At the close of each module, trainees are invited to reflect on the following:

  • What aspect of teaching felt most aligned with your authentic voice?

  • How did your choices support student safety, inclusion, and mindfulness?

  • What philosophical or anatomical principles informed your teaching today?

  • How will you refine your approach in the next session?

Instructor Use

Trainers may use this rubric during observations, peer reviews, and final assessments. It may be applied to written submissions, solo projects, or live teaching demonstrations.

Goal: To empower each trainee to teach from a place of confidence, knowledge, and compassion—embodying yoga as both practice and way of life.

Still not sure? Here are the benefits of mentorship:

Finding Your Voice: The Edge Yoga Teacher Mentorship Journey

At Edge Yoga School & Arts, our mission has always been simple — to support and encourage yoga teachers as they share mindful living with the world. Over the years, I’ve seen so many graduates emerge from teacher training ready to serve, yet still yearning for a gentle hand to help them refine their teaching voice.

That’s why I created the 100-Hour Yoga Teacher Mentorship Program.

This mentorship isn’t another certification to collect; it’s a conversation — between you, your students, and your evolving practice. It’s a space to grow, reflect, and reconnect with why you chose to teach yoga in the first place.

What Makes This Mentorship Unique

This program is intentionally designed to meet you where you are. Whether you’ve just completed your 200-hour training, stepped into leadership through your 300-hour, or have been teaching for years, mentorship offers the support and accountability to move from inspiration to integration.

  • Personalized Guidance: Ten one-on-one mentorship sessions curated around your teaching goals and lifestyle.

  • Real-Time Feedback: Practical advice, class observations, and authentic dialogue.

  • Professional Growth: Build your confidence in sequencing, cueing, and connecting with students.

  • Community Connection: Join a network of yogis who value integrity, artistry, and mindful living.

Why 100 Hours?

A hundred hours gives us the right amount of time to go deep — not rushed, not superficial. You’ll have space to refine your skills while integrating mentorship into your teaching rhythm.

And because Edge Yoga School honors flexibility, you can enroll as a stand-alone mentorship program or add it to your 200-hour or 300-hour journey as an upgrade.

Who It’s For

This mentorship is for yoga teachers who want:

  • A supportive and encouraging relationship with a seasoned mentor.

  • Practical, real-world feedback that improves their teaching immediately.

  • A clear path for continuing education and Yoga Alliance CE credits.

If that sounds like you, consider this your invitation to step into deeper alignment — both as a teacher and as a lifelong student of yoga.

Ready to Begin?

Your journey doesn’t end when the certificate is printed. It unfolds, one class, one reflection, one connection at a time.

Let’s continue your story together through mentorship — with creativity, compassion, and community at heart.
