Helping Children Thrive Through Yoga

Helping Children Thrive Through Yoga

Discover a joyful pathway into Children's Yoga, mindfulness, and Yoga Alliance teacher training.

Children naturally move, imagine, breathe, and play. Yoga gives them a safe space to develop confidence, emotional resilience, focus, creativity, and self-awareness while having fun.

Join Edge Yoga School for a welcoming community workshop introducing Children's Yoga through playful movement, breathing techniques, mindfulness activities, relaxation, and creative expression. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, educator, childcare professional, yoga teacher, college student, or simply curious about bringing yoga into the lives of children, this event offers something for everyone.

Throughout the afternoon, you'll experience two age-appropriate class demonstrations that highlight how Children's Yoga evolves as children grow. Younger children thrive through games, storytelling, movement, and imagination, while older children and teens benefit from mindful movement, somatic practices, breathwork, and opportunities to build self-awareness and emotional regulation.

We'll conclude with a relaxing mandala coloring activity, guided meditation, and restorative sound bath, offering a peaceful reminder that mindfulness is valuable at every age.

This community workshop also serves as an introduction to Edge Yoga School's 95-Hour Children's Yoga Teacher Training, a Yoga Alliance Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT) pathway. Many participants begin by attending a local workshop, continue with continuing education or modular coursework, and eventually complete the full teacher training when the time is right.

The 95-Hour Children's Yoga Teacher Training may be started before completing a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. To register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), participants must also complete a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

At Edge Yoga School, we believe learning happens one experience at a time. A community workshop can spark a new interest, a continuing education course can deepen your knowledge, and a teacher training can open the door to serving children in schools, studios, community centers, healthcare settings, and beyond.

Whether your goal is to enrich your family, support children in your classroom, expand your yoga teaching, or simply enjoy an afternoon of mindful movement, we'd love to welcome you.

We hope you'll join us as we explore how yoga can help children thrive—one breath, one smile, and one playful pose at a time. 🧘‍♀️ #edgeyogaschool #yogaalliance #kidsyoga #yogaalliance #YACEP
